Bunsen – One of the best burgers you’ll ever have.
After taking a day to drive from Cork to Dublin we arrived at our Airbnb a little later than we planned (we stopped several times on our journey). We arrived in Dublin just before dinner time. We were pretty hungry and our Airbnb host highly recommended a burger place called Bunsen that was nearby where we were staying in Ranelagh. She considered herself a “foodie” so we took her word for it and went. Otherwise, I typically wouldn’t go get a burger overseas. WOW, is all I can say. From a simple menu, quick service, and an amazing burger at a fair price, we were impressed.
From the perfectly baked Amish dinner roll bun, quality toppings, gooey cheese, secret sauce, and Irish beef this burger will leave you wanting to come back again and again.
In fact, when we were in Barcelona, we stumbled across a Bunsen at the Gothic Quarter and went twice during our two-day stay. When we came back for another night in Barcelona I wanted to go back there but Mallory forced me to eat at an actual Spanish restaurant. Needless to say, Bunsen is GOOD. If you are in Ireland or even Barcelona, be sure to check their website to see if there is one near you and go get what I think is the best burger you’ll ever have.
Fish Shop – Fish & chips you can’t get enough of.
Right before we went to the Guinness Storehouse we grabbed a quick lunch at a place called the Fish Shop. There are two locations, a fancy restaurant & a not-so-fancy restaurant. If you want some incredible fish and chips you’ll want to make sure you go to this one (the not-so-fancy restaurant). I’ve had fish and chips in Edinburgh, all over London & Ireland, and this place offered the best fish and chips I have had so far.
The fish was perfectly cooked, with a tasty batter, and incredible chips. We left here wishing we could go back for another round.
